eVisitor, Tourist & Working Holiday Visas

Common Visa Categories

eVisitor (Subclass 651)

FREE

For passport holders of eligible European countries to visit Australia for tourism or business.

Features:

  • • Stay up to 3 months per visit
  • • Valid for 12 months

Eligible Countries Include:

  • • All EU member states
  • • United Kingdom
  • • Norway, Iceland, Switzerland

Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)

For visitors who are not eligible for eVisitor or ETA. Includes tourist, business visitor, and sponsored family streams.

Streams:

  • Tourist stream: Tourism, visiting family/friends
  • Business Visitor stream: Business activities (not work)
  • Sponsored Family stream: Visiting family with Australian sponsor
  • Approved Destination Status stream: For Chinese tour groups

Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417/462)

For young adults (typically 18-30/35) from eligible countries to holiday and work in Australia.

Subclass 417:

  • • UK, Canada, Germany, France, etc.
  • • Ages 18-30 (35 for some countries)
  • • First WHV: 12 months
  • • Extendable with regional work

Subclass 462:

  • • USA, Argentina, Thailand, etc.
  • • Ages 18-30 (31 for some)
  • • May have additional requirements
  • • Some countries have caps

Student Visa (Subclass 500)

For international students enrolled in registered courses in Australia.

Key Requirements:

  • • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from registered provider
  • • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement
  • • English language proficiency
  • • Proof of financial capacity
  • • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
