Visa-Free Entry

Visa Categories

Certificate of Eligibility (CoE)

For most long-term visas (work, study, spouse), you need a Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) before applying for the visa.

Process:

  1. 1.Your sponsor (employer, school, or spouse) applies for CoE at Japanese immigration
  2. 2.Processing takes 1-3 months
  3. 3.CoE is sent to you
  4. 4.Apply for visa at Japanese embassy with CoE

The CoE significantly speeds up visa processing as it shows immigration has pre-approved your status.
